We are looking for warm and welcoming host families in the Bay Area and Silicon Valley this summer (June–August) to host children (ages 8–15) from Asia, including Japan and Korea, who will attend Stanford University’s summer camp. Open your home to a young student, share your culture, and create a memorable summer experience for both your family and the student.

Host Family Details:

7 Nights, 8 Days – $840 Hosting Stipend per Student


Hosting Period
7 nights, 8 days
Sunday PM check-in – following Sunday AM check-out

Schedule
Monday–Friday: Students attend a local summer camp or educational program
Drop-off: by 8:30 AM (Stanford)
Pick-up: 4:30 PM (Stanford)
Saturday: San Francisco tour (full day)
Dinner with host family after the tour

Meals
Provide breakfast and dinner daily
Lunch provided by the program except on Saturday (see below)

Transportation
Daily transportation to and from the camp (Monday–Friday)
Optional: Saturday transportation to/from Palo Alto Station (8:30 AM drop-off / 6:00 PM pick-up) — additional payment available
Airport transportation if needed — additional payment available

Hosting Arrangement
Host families are asked to welcome two students at a time.
Students may share one room; an air mattress will be provided (please provide sheets).

Additional Notes
If students do not join the Saturday San Francisco tour and stay with the host family instead, additional lunch allowance will be provided

2 Nights, 3 Days – $240 Hosting Stipend per Student

Check-in: Friday 4:30 PM (Pick up from Stanford University)
Check-out: Sunday AM (Drop off at SFO International Airport — additional compensation if you assist)

Friday: Arrival and check-in
Saturday: Full-day San Francisco tour (Dinner with host family in the evening)
Sunday: Check-out

Host Family Guidelines

We are looking for families who can welcome students into their homes:
  • Families with children up to 18 years old (or without children, if you meet the other requirements).
  • Treat students as part of the family.
  • Provide a private room.
  • Speak English primarily at home.
  • Support cross-cultural exchange and engage with the student.
